An Opening in the Brain - Freedom At Last!
Tonight, for the first time in three months, my brain experienced a sigh of relief. There is a brook flowing with water again - and I can breathe, finally. I can go see a movie and look down at my growing baby inside of my tummy, and feel movements, flutters, and smile. I can laugh and cry watching a silly movie called “Baby Mama”.
You know those noise machines you can buy - like Bose - or other little radios that have sound machines on them. You can set them to Ocean, Wind, Brook, and a couple of other non-memorable sounds. My mind is not yet like the ocean - it’s not roaring, instead, it’s more like a brook flowing with peaceful sounds of water, after a short summer rain storm passing through. It feels good to breathe, to appreciate, to have something to look forward to.
I and a few other friends and colleagues are joining me in North Carolina in a few weeks. We plan to take in the sights of the Outer Banks as well as some wild ponies. There are two sets of wild ponies in the Outer Banks, one on the north side, in Corolla, and the other in the southern side, near Shackleford.
It is far better to see animals in the wild, than in a zoo, for those looking for summertime entertainment for their children. I will not take my child to the zoo. We will ride and take pictures, and enjoy the sites of animals in their natural habitat. But for now, it’s baby and me, adventuring, with close friends and their children exploring and enjoying nature at its best.
Feeling freedom from caged emotions - where it can all come out - is in the wild, where oceans roar, and horses run wild - freedom delivered. Thank God we have the ability to run wild - the book Women Who Run with the Wolves comes to mind, as my dog lay sleeping beside me peacefully. If only she didn’t fart like a skunk!
Sorry - LOL.
Without saying more - as a trailblazer - see last blog post - that’s what life is like some days - you’re either running with the wolves, ahead of the wolves, or from the wolves - your choice.
As my brother once said, somedays you’re the fire hydrant and other days you’re the dog.
Tonight, I choose to run with the wolves, or wild horses, whichever animal seems more appropriate here. And since I haven’t eaten dinner yet, and it’s approaching 9 p.m., I’m off to forage for some food, thankfully in the comforts of a restaurant or Whole Foods, and not in the wild.
