Personal Breastfeeding Observations, Lessons Learned & Resources

If you’re not into the breastfeeding topic, I would not read further.  If you’re curious about breastfeeding, or have stories of your own to share, this will be the place to do so.  I am posting on my own personal journey through breastfeeding, which as of yet, has been challenging.  Both Melina, my baby girl, and I are learning, listening to what others say and demonstrate (yes, lactation consultants actually show you in person what to do, with your baby and breasts), about breastfeeding, pumps, timing, relaxation, how hospital drugs, and c-sections can possibly impact the outcome of breastfeeding, and how your baby reacts afterwards.

Baby girl Melina was delivered via c-sec two weeks early, or approximately  10 days early from due date.  She is an invitro baby.  She was breech, and high up in the tummy when they delivered her.  They had to open me further to get her out, and had a bit of a tug getting her out from my stomach.  She came out healthy, 6 lb, 11 oz, 19 inches on 11/24/08.  She is tiny.
