After I Deliver Melina, Some Things I Look Forward To
Do you know one of the things I look forward to, after delivering Melina?
In addition to holding her, breastfeeding, cradling her, looking at her for hours in her crib, staring at her, all those wonderful ooh-aah things - can I say that I just want to be able to sleep on my back?
Sounds horrible, right? How can that be so important? Well, I’m a stomach sleeper, but you are not allowed to sleep or rest for even a few minutes on your back while you’re prego. When the baby gets bigger and heavier, sleeping on either side (all that’s left to do) is also no longer comfortable. The baby’s weight and all the fluids inside shift and you can tell towards the end that she’s either uncomfortable too - or we’re both just in an odd spot.
I just broke up a cat fight at 3;30 a.m. between Misha and Monroe. Lucky is petitioning me to sleep on the bed - and she doesn’t give up easily - so why should I worry about sleep deprivation? Half the time it has nothing to do with my baby or the pregnancy.
