Antarctica Penguins: Favorite Moments on the Antarctica Cruise
My Absolute Favorite Thing to Do in Antarctica : Watch the Antarctica Penguins!
I am still organizing Antarctica photos, preparing videos and uploading them to YouTube, however the coolest thing to do in Antarctica for me was to watch the penguins. They are beyond cute, a little stinky I might add, but once you get over the guano smell - you can’t help but love these little guys!

Gentoo Penguin in Cuverville Island, AntarcticaWe saw gentoo penguins & chinstrap penguins. I’ve posted some pics here of gentoos, but there are pics of both on Flickr if you click the link to the left here.

Postcard Perfect PenguinsI missed the Adelies, sadly, whom have experienced a steep decline in population due to global warming and climate change. Over a 70% decline in Adelie penguins is believed to be due to egg mortality as a result of Adelies nesting on sea ice. Warmer temperatures, ie global warming, creates more snow, believe it or not. If enough snow falls, Adelies are often buried in the snow while they nest - and as a result are forced to abandon their eggs in order to survive themselves.
I’ve created a Flickr photo set of the Antarctica Penguins. You can jump to the Antarctica Penguin Slideshow on Flickr. View Options, or Click on the “i” to view titles and descriptions if you want. I just wish I could figure out how to add some music….
