Ice-Strengthened Cruise Ships for Antarctica: More on Ice Classes 1 reply
Ice Classes & Ice-Strengthened Cruise Ship Ratings - Antarctica
More on the topic of ice-strengthened cruise ships and their ice classes - as you know it’s less than a week that I depart for Antarctica. I’m finalizing equipment (digital camera, satellite phone, computer) and continuing to research as many topics possible on the safety of my Explorer II cruiseship, which is now the Abercrombie & Kent Minerva.
As I mentioned in my last post, I came across a very helpful website, www.gcaptain.com, that referenced ice classes and some helpful blog posts regarding the problems with cruising in today’s Antarctica, under concerns regarding climate change, tourism, ice classes of various ice-strengthened cruiseships, and crew information.
I received some immediate responses from the website, which were all extremely helpful. I was disappointed, however, to find out that my cruiseship’s ice rating was not well received by those responding to my blog post.

Ms. Thieme, are you familiar with The Club of Rome, Global 2000, The Council on Foreign Relations, and Al Gore’s relationship to the CFR? Have you ever asked yourself, if Al Gore is so dedicated to combating man-made global warming then why is his film not out on the internet for free like so many other activists who’s main goal is to inform? Have you ever thought that man-made global warming could be a hoax or a lie, let’s say stretched or used as a device to instill fear in people to impose a CO2 tax on people, or implement population control? In effect a device to control people? I found your site while looking for photographs of the M/S Explorer. Strangely enough, a google image search of “sinking M/S Explorer” yields only one image(and that image wouldn’t even load). Why is it so difficult to see this image? I sense, after reading some of your blog entries, alarm about your trip. Could it be that the M/S was intentionally sunk, or that in the very least, the whole story isn’t being told here? A fist sized hole? No Id’s? No images and in fact, images being retracted? http://cryptome.org/explorer/explorer-sinks.htm What is going on down in Antarctica? That aside for now, I urge you, Ms. Thieme, to take the time and watch this film. http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=3069943905833454241 When your done, research the filmaker, research the science and evidence presented. Are you familiar with the philosopher Wilheim Hegel, Ms. Thieme? The Hegelian principal, or Problem/Reaction/Solution? I might be going a bit overboard with my suspicions on the Explorer Ms. Thieme (no pun intended and my apologies), but I had a very informed friend tell me about a NASA project in Antarctica, and thought to myself this would be a very convenient way to deter people from going down there. I have also heard other things about the M/S Explorer. Any information you could share would be appreciated. But the M/S aside, I’d like you to discuss the other side to the “man-made” global warming phenomenon. How does one account for temperatures on other planets in the Solar System rising if temperatures are supposedly being driven by CO2 and deadly greenhouse gasses on this planet? Have you ever thought that this “man-made” global warming frenzy is nothing more than a fear mongering device used to persuade people into giving up their liberties, impose a global tax on a product that comes out of our own bodies, reduce population and usher in a global governing body with even more power than the U.N.?
